Founding Story
Turan & Tarub is founded and run by Sheela Imran Bandh. She started it in 2017 in Awantipora, Kashmir, where we are still based. We promote rural women artisans and their authentic craftsmanship.

We make custom pieces to whatever you ask for. Each one takes five to six weeks.

We have now completed over 1,000 orders, for customers in Kashmir, across India, in the UAE and the Gulf, and in the UK. We sell online only, with no showroom.

The Craftsmanship
Each product page tells you which of its work was done by hand.
Done by hand, always.
Also done entirely by hand.
Sometimes by hand, sometimes by machine. The product page says which.
The People
We work directly with independent artisans and pay agreed wages.
A single piece takes them three to six weeks.
